  5. I love when people recommend books. Right now I am reading a book called Mindset. It's a good one for teachers, but I'm always up to reading something new!

    1. I enjoy Carol Dweck's work. Have your read Drive by Daniel Pink? I often pair growth mindset with intrinsic motivation. This book has many opportunities for me to have conversations about point systems, candy jars, and what Pink calls "stick and carrot" extrinsic motivation. Enjoy your book!

  6. Avery, My favorite books are about education philosophy and picture books. When I find time to read it is either during my families bedtime routine, where Patricia Polacco's The Keeping Quilt, or after my children have gone to sleep when I read to become a better teacher. My favorites are Democracy and Education by John Dewey, Pedagogy of the Oppressed by Paulo Freire and Creating Cultures of Thinking by Ron Ritchhart.
