My Drear Forth Grade Friends, I am so happy to have had a chance to read your blogs at MACUL. My students at West Utica Elementary also have blogs. They help us to share our views of the world with others. Sometimes my student struggle to understand why the world can seem to be so unfair. Why do some people have to face the challenges of growing up disabled or in poverty? Reading your blogs shows me that even though you are young, you're growing in empathy for others. Connections To Wonder

Hi my name is Lilly, and this precept connects to me because, I can only be on earth for a certain time, and I have to enjoy it while you can. This precept connects to Wonder because Jack Will was not being very nice, and I think that he wasn't treating Auggie nicely. According to the text, Jack Will said that he would kill himself if he looked like Auggie. I don't think that Auggie will have a very nice life, but if he keeps trying, then he will have a great life. When Auggie was born everybody thought that he was not going to live through the night, but God blessed him with that ticket to life and to live for a reason.

The Two Most Important Days

The precept that I chose is "The two most important days of your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why." This precept connects to me because sometimes I wonder why I was I born. What did God send me down from heaven? This precept connects to Wonder because since Auggie was born with a craniofacial anomaly, and he wonders what he was created for. Finally, this precept connects to the world because people were born form for various reasons, and they wonder why.

The Greatest Ticket In Life Is...

I think the ticket to life is the greatest thing on earth, because you get to have so many opportunities and if no one was on the earth, the world would be empty and dull. There would also be no interaction. I think this precept connects with August, because he was not going to survive when he was born. But God gave him the ticket to be on earth.

The Greatest Show Is Found In Life

The precept that I chose for this blogging session is "Life is a ticket to the greatest show on Earth." This precept was spoken by Martin H. Fischer. This precept connects to me because throughout life, there are going to be great things happening! This precept connects to Wonder because Auggie may not have the greatest life, but Summer shows him that "Life is a ticket to the greatest show on Earth."

My Precept

This really speaks to me because these tickets never expire. They also cost nothing, all they cost is spirt. This kind of relates to Summer in her believe and theory in heaven, and when people pass.

Try And Fail But Get Back Up

This precept connects to me because, if you actually try and fail your still better then those who don't do anything and succeed. So if in gymnastics I fail on a trick, but my friend succeeds with doing nothing to practice, and practiced a lot on that trick. This precept connects with August because, some times his surgeries don't work out but he is still better then those who are doing nothing and accomplishing it. Does this precept connect to you?

Hi I am Aisha. How like an angel came I down, is the precept that moderates me to be as sweet as an angel when I am with my friends, family,cousins or at a party's. I hope you also do the same.

Hi, this is Annaclaire this precept ones with me because I always take a dare and I will always take a nother path. This goes with wonder because Auggust has had that happen to him.

In Wonder, Summer leaves the path that leads to popularity, and makes a trail that leads to kindness, and friendship. I leave the path so I can do better than others have done.

Precept

This precept relates to Wonder because Summer picked the right path because she is nicer to August. This precept means you should choose to be nice to other people. This relates to me because I am nice.

Make Your Own Path

I think that this precept means that even if everyone is doing some thing that wrong you should do the right thing because then others might do the right thing to and follow your lead. I think that this precept is connected to wonder because Jack Will should not do what Julian said but he should be kind and start a new path.

My Third Precept.

Hi my name is Joseph. This precept connects with me, because because being on earth is the biggest gift ever from God. This precept connects with August, because be when he was born, they said he was not going to survive through the night. But God let him have a chance.

Some Thing That Goes With Me

Hi my precept goes with me because I always fight though things but it is worth it. It goes with Auggie because he fights thou stuff too. According to the text, he does get made fun of a lot and he will fight thou stuff like one time it was Halloween and he was at school and this one kid did not know it was  Auggie and he was talking  to people that he wouid kill him self if I was him.

My Precept

This really speaks to me because you do not have to buy anything. All you need to do is be kind to that person and that is there birthday gift to them. Jack Will can really read this because he could be much nicer to Auggie and be his friend.

Kind Words Don't Cost Much

The precept that motivates me is "Kind words do not cost much. Yet they accomplish much."  This precept was spoken by Blaise Pascal. My text to self connection to this precept is that when I say kind words they accomplish much. My kind words are not like a gift, which costs money. The text to text connection is if Jack could have used kind words, it would help move Jack and Auggie's friendship forward. They could be best friends!

Precepts About Wonder

This precept connects to Wonder, because when Auggie came in to the classroom on Halloween he overheard someone talking to someone else and felt really bad, and I think that he wasn't following that precept. I think this precept connects to me because I heard some really nice things today.

A Precept About Kindness

This precept reminds me that if I am kind to others, that kindness will be shared and spread. That kindness will make someone have a good day. In Wonder, Summer shares kindness with August, and then, a bridge of friendship is built.

My Precept

This precept describes me because it doesn't matter how small the group is it could still do something big to make us have a better world. I have also been in a small group and we still can figure things out. I was in a small group and we had to figure something out and we did. It all depends on how your group collaborates. But the most important thing is teamwork. Teamwork makes everything better. In Wonder I think it connects to August because everyone is so mean to him and if they work as a team, things will probably be a lot better.

Ever Day Precept

Hi I am Aisha. For kindness begets kindness evermore, is the precept that connection to me to be kinder and not be mean. So if anyone is being mean to anyone I will be there to stop the fight, that they get along and never fight again.

Connections

This precept speaks to me because, when talent is not working hard work beats it. In gymnastics if my talent is not working if I work hard I will accomplish a lot in life and gymnastics. I think this connects to Auggie because when his talent is not working if he will work hard through is surgeries it will turn out ok. Does this precept connect to you?

To me this precept means that every thing in this world should be appreciated including the darkness and light which are barely ever appreciated even though we know it's there.I think that this relates to wonder because Auggie has to appreciate himself even if he looks different.

Blogging About Wonder

I feel connected to this precept because I feel like you can be the hero in some cases. You can always stand up to bullies, and if you see a bully picking on somebody else, then you can be a hero and stand up for that kid. I think this precept is connected to wonder because a kid named August Pullman, and he has a dis formed face, and a kid named Jack Will, and he said that he would kill himself if he looked like August, and I think that the thing that Jack said was really mean.

My Wonder Precept

My precept really touches me because I think it is always kind to say the right thing. Because in Wonder, I think August was getting bullied a lot and people should never judge on how people look. They should judge their personality. If you judge people on their looks, people won't want to be your friend and people who have face dis formations on their face, those people will be scared to come up to you because they will think that you will judge on how they look. I think everyone should friends with people who have disfiguration so you can learn their style.

Precept

This precept spoke to me because in Gymnastics a have to climb a rope. It motivated me to always try to get to the top of the rope. And tie that knot and stay there to build up my strength. At The End Of Your Rope

I don't know how to explain why I feel connected to this precept but I sort of feel like it connects me to my relatives who have past, such as my great Aunt Julie, who past just a few nights ago, also I feel as if it connects me with me and my soul. Hi I am posting a precept that connects to me. I think It connects to me because I will always hang on to stop and never give up. I will also tell you how this connects to August because he will never give up and will always hang on to, he will always stick with him.

My Precept

The precept that motivates me to is "When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on. This precept speaks me because it means when you come to your horizon, which is where you can't do anything more than what you're comfortable with, tie a knot where you are, and that means to stay in your comfort zone. This precept connects to the book Wonder because Auggie stays in his comfort zone during the book in multiple occasions. This precept was spoken by Thomas Jefferson.

Text To Self-connection

This precept connects to me because, in gymnastics it doesn't matter what happens to me, it matters how I react to it. In gymnastics I have my backhand spring on a cheese mat with spot , but I don't care if I fall I just care how I react.

My Meaningful Precept

This precept is meaningful to me, because I feel alone sometimes, so, I know that if I think noble thoughts, I will not feel as alone. This can go with Wonder, because August might think noble thoughts so that he doesn't feel as alone. He feels so alone because nobody will get near him, because of his face. And he thinks that everybody is just pretending to be his friend, because of what happened at halloween.

The precept that I chose is what motivated me to be helpful to my friends, families and teachers whenever they need help or if they are in trouble, and it also motivates me to never be mean.

Hi, my name is Lilly, and I am going to blog about the book "Wonder". Today I am going to tell you a little bit about the chapter called "The Bleeding Scream." In the chapter there is a kid called Jack Will, and he was talking to a kid called Julian. August, a kid with a serious problem that didn't let his face form right, was the bleeding scream, Jack Will was a mummy, and Julian was Darth Sidious. When August came in to his homeroom, he overheard Jack Will talking to Julian about August's face. Jack Will said "If I looked like that, then I would kill myself" (pg. 77). I think that August felt very sad. He went home because he felt like someone punched him in the gut.

He has some tough times during his first year, but there are also some good parts. He makes some new friends, and that is very important.

In the book Wonder, I read the chapter How I Came to Life. I thought it was really funny because when August was getting born, there was a farting nurse. When she had August, they rushed him in a room. But as they were running one of the doctors fainted! The faring nurse was screaming WHAT KIND OF DOCTOR ARE YOU? But all of a sudden the nurse let out the biggest fart ever of the history of farts!! And it woke up the doctor! It was hilarious!
